Bidding Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Strokes & Splinters. By submitting a bid or inquiry through this website, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms governing offers, negotiations, and acquisitions.
1. Nature of Bids
All bids submitted through this platform constitute expressions of purchase interest, not binding contracts. A transaction is only confirmed once both parties have agreed in writing via direct correspondence.
We reserve the right to accept, decline, or counter any offer at our sole discretion.
2. Artwork Availability
All works presented are original, one-of-one pieces. Availability is subject to prior sale, ongoing negotiation, or artist decision. Submission of a bid does not guarantee acquisition.
3. Offer Review Process
After submitting a bid:
Our team reviews the offer for seriousness and completeness.
Qualified collectors may be contacted for verification or discussion.
If accepted or shortlisted, you will receive a private response outlining next steps.
We may decline to respond to submissions deemed unserious, incomplete, or inconsistent with market value.
4. Pricing & Negotiation
Listed price guidance, where provided, reflects curatorial valuation rather than fixed retail pricing. Final sale values may vary based on:
collector interest
exhibition context
artist direction
market demand
All negotiations are conducted privately and confidentially.
5. Payment & Closing
Transactions are finalized offline through direct communication. Once terms are agreed:
payment instructions will be issued
payment timelines will be specified
ownership transfers upon cleared payment
Accepted payment methods will be confirmed during the closing process.
6. Authenticity Guarantee
Each acquired artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and relevant documentation confirming origin and authorship.
7. Shipping & Risk
Shipping arrangements are coordinated individually with each collector. All shipments are professionally packed and insured. Risk transfers upon confirmed delivery.
8. Replacements/returns
Due to the unique and irreplaceable nature of original works, replacements are accepted only if:
the artwork arrives damaged
the wrong piece is delivered
there is a verified material discrepancy from its description
All return requests must be submitted within 72 hours of delivery with supporting evidence.
9. Confidentiality
All bids, communications, and collector information are handled with strict discretion. We do not disclose identities or offers publicly.
10. Right of Refusal
We reserve the right to refuse service, decline offers, or withdraw artworks from availability at any time and without obligation to provide reason.
11. Governing Principle
This platform operates as a curated art representation space, not a retail storefront. All engagements are conducted in the spirit of professional collecting and artistic stewardship.
